General Consumer Safety

Legislation on toxic metals in additives varies greatly from country to country. These additives can potentially contain toxic levels of certain metals, which can leach out.  Screening, verification and testing for additives in imported toys, plastics, paints, furnishings and other goods is essential to protect children and adults alike from lead and other toxic-metal poisoning.

The INAM XRF-analyzer is used by both product manufacturers and government regulators to screen consumer products for hazardous chemicals. The small, lightweight and portable design means it can be used at the factory, in a warehouse, at a port, in a product integrity lab or in-situi.

·         Screens for toxic metals in a large variety of consumer goods

·         Reduces risk of lead poisoning

·         Identifies lead and cadmium-containing products

·         Aids retailers in compliance with product safety legislation from regulatory bodies such as U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the European Union's Product Safety Enforcement Forum (PROSAFE), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs & Border Protection, Health Canada

·         Monitors levels of lead in paint and other materials

·         Automatically selects correct analytical mode for more efficient screening

·         Can be used for halogen-free manufactured products

Identifies toxic metals including:

Lead (Pb)

Barium (Ba)

Antimony (Sb)

Selenium (Se)

Cadmium (Cd)

Mercury (Hg)

Chromium (Cr)

Tin (Sn)

and others.

Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Industries

The counterfeit drugs trade has grown to a multi-billion dollar operation, but is dangerous for consumers, suppliers and manufacturers. Pharmaceutical companies need to be sure that what is being sold as their brand is safe.  The INAM XRF analyzer  can:

·         Identify counterfeit pharmaceuticals

·         Fingerprint drug formulations

·         Detect hazardous compounds

·         Identify quantity of active, foreign or substitute ingredients

·         Monitor metal content

·         Control product recipes

·         Monitor corrosion

·         Aid in catalyst development

·         Facilitate on-site installation qualifications and operational qualifications

·         Trace alloy components

Agricultural Industries and Renewable Energy

·         Analyze a wide range of elements in soil

·         Guarantee label content matching

·         Measure active, inactive ingredients and compounds

·         Check feed, digestate (biogas projects) and fertilizer formulations and metal content

·         Aid with  food and farming regulations compliance

·         Confirm gypsum and lime content

·         Examine spatial variability on-site

·         Measure ash and oils  (incineration, pyrolysis, gasification)
